Eve Egoyan is an internationally celebrated artist whose medium is the piano. She continually re-invents her relationship with her instrument by creating, commissioning, and performing new works. She is currently focused on creating works for a newly imagined instrument that delves into the space between what a piano can do and what she has always wished it could do.

Trained as a classical pianist, Eve followed her curiosity into contemporary music when she arrived in Toronto thirty years ago, where she was inspired by an emerging generation of composers. Her twelve solo CDs have received accolades from The Globe and Mail and New Yorker Magazine and largely feature works she has commissioned. In addition to pieces written for her by living composers, Eve’s extensive repertoire includes Erik Satie, Ann Southam, and Maria de Alvear, among others.

As a performer, collaborator, and teacher, Eve works to improve gender equity in the contemporary music community. As one of fifty Canadian performers and conductors given the designation of “CMC Ambassador” by the Canadian Music Centre, Eve is also a keen ambassador for Canadian music abroad.
